Do I ride as much as I can - yes. Ducati sucks to me it's the newer bikes that put out a bunch of power that are unreliable for daily use. I mean that, no joke Cheers. Joined: Aug 23, Oddometer: 2, Location: finally back in paradise I don't have a duc, but after threads like Ducati sucks and reading more than a few threads about swelling tanks and Ducati sucks electricals on the Multistrada owners forum and the duc forum I've come to these conclusions; 1 There isn't enough money in this world to get me to buy a Multistrada, either the previous generation or the new one. I had the purchase price, but not the maintenance price.

Remember me. Thats right, I've said it, it's true, Ducati sucks. It's the worst value for money bike I've ever purchased. Sure it looks like a piece of art and I'd be proud to have it in the foyer of my office. But for the money, shit!!!!!!!!!! Why does everyone defend them, they break down a lot, their electrics suck, the build quality is average and after all the work I've done on mine the torque values on all the nuts and bolts are not only different to many of the manual specs but from the left to right side of the bike as well.
Were the guys pissed when they assembled these things???? Given the same rider most Jap bikes of the same class would piss on the Duc. And I'm not talking about Super Bike race teams, I mean bikes you buy from the dealer. All the go fast bits seem to be more expensive for the Duc just because of the name. It's almost like going to the boat shop or hangar and paying twice as much for the same thing because it says "marine" or "aviation".
So I've learned my lesson and will only by Jap in the future. I feel no need to defend a substandard bike just because I dropped a shit load of money on it and have to justify myself. OK, now flame me all you want, I wont see it, this is the last time I will be visiting this site. I've asked Alvin to remove my user but I still seem to be able to log on so feel free to complain and speed up the process. And if it's not that it's just people slagging the shit out of each other.
All the best and I hope you all end up with the bike you dreamed about. I mean that, no joke Cheers. As your words say, "Not everyone is meant to be a Ducati owner", it takes a passionate love that many folks in the fast lane never develop. I recommend a few beers and do something else for a while. The Ducati seed is planted in you as you seemingly have one Its a bad fix to be in.
I appreciate your last statement as that very thing has happened to me. I still will feel I hit the lotto of bikes even if all I do is just look at it and never ride it some of my other Ducatis have that place of honor. Its that Ducati werid crap showing through again I cant wait to ride my Ducati to work today.

But I guess in the end it's the difefrence between Campy and Shimano, one is meant to rebuilt and use for ever, the other you get a few trouble free years out of it wear it out and throw it away.
There's just something about a twin that is competative and ridable on the street, think about what a four would be like that was truly competative with a v8 in the car world. Sorry to hear about your conclusion, but then again as they say some ones trash is anothers pride and joy.

That is what happen to my last MB. Perhaps a s? If money can solve the problem, just do it! Like Jap bike? Originally Posted by M1st DP ECU. RnG bar ends. I think it is worth it to be able to not have a bike you see everywhere, at least where I live. Rosco when you come to Adelaide you can borrow my for the day 12,k's so far no issues, just had the 12, k service valves were still spot on I feel you must have bought a "friday" bike which is a shame.

This bike sucks! Tags: connector gas leak pump. Dec 28, 1. I bought this crap new from Bert's Mega Mall in California. In less than 3k miles the clutch was slipping and the warranty did not cover it "wearable part.
I paid premium money for the italian made, not the Thailand made wrongly thinking that quality would be better. Basically, this motorcycle sucks. And Bert's still cannot figure what went wrong. They told me to come and pick it up. This is what they gave me. Nobody knows shit from fact. The bike for more than a month like this. Dec 28, 2. You might want to take it to a Ducati dealership like Ducati Newport Beach. They are more invested in the brand and clientele than a mega mall off bikes.
Dec 28, 3. Yes Shaka, a ducationly may do better. I'll do that next time. But, this bike almost killed me by gushing gas all over the hot engine and my jeans.
I should sue Ducati. They are lucky I do not have the time. Dec 28, 4. That could happens to German and Japanese bikes. Could be a prep problem, could be a Friday build. I have 3 Scramblers and have had zero issues.
I bought them from GP in San Diego. Must say, all 3 we're delivered with the right adjustments. Sorry to hear about your experience. Dec 28, 5. Fuel line coming of is a common problem. They will not even put it back on under warranty. Dec 28, 6. Any half decent dealer will take responsibility if a thing like this happens.
You have warrenty or what? Biggest problem is finding decent mechanics as a shop owner nowadays, because everyone is getting a college degree and wants to become a manager of some sorts Dec 29, 7. Both of these problems are due to the dealer not carrying a proper PDI. Both should be covered by warranty despite what the dealer may tell you.
Dec 29, 8. Dec 29, 9. Dec 29, I do get the impression from this forum that Ducati aren't helpful and it depends on how helpful your dealer is. Is this the norm with manufacturers? I ask because my FTP is the first new bike I have ever bought. The dealer I go to is Razee in Rhode Island and they amazing. They out perform my expectations every time.
That's a pretty cool thing nowadays. Hello This bike doesn't suck, but your dealer sucks, really At 3k miles, even if the warranty rules say the clutch is a wearable part, he should have managed the situation differently. Same thing for the disconnected fuel line, even if he isn't responsible as this fuel line was certainly badly connected during the bike build except if someone has dismounted the tank.
A good dealer always find a solution to manage correctly such situations. My Scrambler DS is my 4th Ducati, I faced several issues on these different bikes and my dealer has always managed to have them covered by the warranty, even when the rules were broken. I don't know how he managed that, but he did and I've bought these 4 bikes to him and I'm still fully confident with him. You must log in or sign up to reply here. Show Ignored Content.
