Read this issue! Thanks for the update. George is an inspiration. I liked this article as it showed great 'worm's-eye views' of the layout itself, dropping the camera directly into the scenes. George, has a beautiful layout. As can be seen from his track plan his focus is on main line run and fantastic scenery instead of destinations for freight cars. Lots of folks build things with different "priorities". Some model more switching, others mountain climbing, some the yard is a major influence.

It is nice to see the urban scene from a different time period than is usually chosen. For me, the most interesting layouts are the ones where the creator has clearly given thought to almost every inch of the layout I love the era that was modeled with all the classic cars and steam locomotives.. The only thing I didn't like about the article was that most of the photos were too small for such a detailed layout. I would've liked just about every photo to have been a full-page spread so I could drool over all the detail and study the effort that was put into this masterpiece!

Sincerely, Todd M. A few years ago MR had a article by Tony Koester stating that George had expressed an interest in trying operating sessions. Tony and some others worked to help him get started in that direction. George is such a great inspiration to all model railroaders. The article mentions that George admires Doug Foscales structure building chops, nice kudos!

I would like to see a video in which Doug and George collaborate on a structure build from start to finish. I think the brainstorming about what structure, what locale, all the way to the finished product would be a video I would want to own.
