  • From many things that I have read through the years related to moms desires to see what their sons would like like if they had been girls.
  • Well I guess I should start with a little about me.

My daughter is on the cusp of becoming a teenager. You see, my mother shops at Sears, and still talks about the Montgomery Ward catalogue like it is a long-lost friend.

And neither one is even a smidge like the other when it comes to picking out clothes. While my daughter likes these two pieces and wears them quite a bit, I was surprised she did not like this outfit. I loved this on her, of course, and I would have picked it out for her myself. Heck, I would even wear it. But for my Anna, it was a no-go. They look just like regular jeans, so of course they would go with a sporty top?

But according to my Anna, sporty tops are a no-no with leggings. Who knew? But Anna said she picked out the kimono top to wear with crop tops and shorts, or over her bathing suit — not to wear with jeans and a full-length shirt. I knew my mom would be drawn to this dress; it reminds of the dresses she used to buy for my sisters and me when we were younger from Sears, of course.

I thought maybe my daughter would have outgrown it, since we bought it out a over a year ago. She used to want to wear pretty little dresses like this every day, but alas, she has passed through that stage. I would wear different ones. Like a choker would look way better. I think my Anna was more than ready to take over her wardrobe again and let her own style come through, so I decided since she was such a good sport, she could put her own outfit together.

And so she did — on a shopping trip with me, of course. It is just very different than mine. Or so I thought. Turns out, when it comes to what my daughter wears, we both share the same sentiment. It matters. We all want to love the way we look. What could go wrong? I continued to work at the office, gaining responsibility as time went on. Saturday morning I got up and ready again a cute skirt and top and heels, all of which were my clothes. I looked just like a girl! Just a light green cotton dress with puffed short sleeves that buttoned up the back. Then said, she wanted me up at 5am. Even better, he would no longer be around to bother the women in the office, and Carolyn now had a hammer over him to keep him in line.

My Year-Old Mother Dressed My Tween Daughter for a Week and It Was Interesting | Babble

Fashionistas love a cute bag or a cute shoe — but who doesn't go gaga over a cute kid? Badgley Mischka's Spring collection no doubt made for a gorgeous, girly spectacle as it hit the runway at New York Fashion Week, but the most swoon-worthy elements of the show weren't the glamorous gowns or a sparkling jewelry.

It was the debut of the designer's children's collection, modeled by darling little girls dressed in coordinated mommy-and-me outfits, walking alongside the catwalk pros. Too cute! Brand new! The design duo launched its first-ever children's clothing collection. Look at that mini-me! Four little girls modeled the very glamorous dresses, which coordinated with the ones adult models were wearing. Loving it!

Pampered princess: One of the little girls is seen getting her makeup done before the show. Badgley Mischka has already been selling shoes for children, but the brand has just launched children's clothing for the first time.

The perfect little party dresses had their big moment on Saturday as 31 grown-up models walked the runway — with four accompanied by little mini-me's in child-appropriate versions of the women's dresses. One adult model in a ruffled, floral gown held the hand of her miniature, a little blonde girl wearing the same pattern above a poufy purple skirt.

Another little girl wore a pink and blue floral print identical to the one her adult counterpart wore, those hers came with a sweet childish bow. Seriously spectacular: The gorgeous show had an Alice in Wonderland garden party theme.

For the girly girls! The collections showcased the brand's signature feminine aesthetic. Fierce and fabulous: It was a mix of sweeping formal gowns, cocktail dresses, and suits. Bling bling! Most of the models also wore flashy jewelry, particularly earrings. The joint collection was presented with a garden party show, which had no traditional front row but rather tables where guests sipped champagne.

Sweet style: The brand also used the show as an opportunity to launch its new fragrance, which was created to mark the 30th anniversary of the label. Princess pink, Elsa blue, beautiful colors — and everything is super lightweight, so it just floats. In celebration of the anniversary, the brand also launched a fragrance at the runway show, which was spread through the air via diffusers so that attendees could smell the fresh floral scent in the air.

Hard work: Badgley told Vogue that fashion is a difficult industry, but it's gratifying. Princess pink, Elsa blue, beautiful colors — and everything is super lightweight, so it just floats,' said Mischka. Womenswear: Bows, ruffles, brocades, and shiny fabrics swept down the catwalk. Mischka said: 'The past 30 years have been distilled into an essence of beading, crystals and fabulous lightweight fabrics, all super luxurious and super elegant at the same time'.

While Badgley Miscka put the kids center stage, the brand wasn't the only one to feature a child or two at NYFW this season. At the Pyer Moss show, a young boy opened the presentation, walking hand-in-hand with an adult female model.

While she glided down the catwalk in a flowing white dress with a cape, he was casual cool in pants and sneakers. Conductor Brian Chippendale drummed along, too, to give them a rhythm to follow. And then there were the children still in utero. On Saturday, a five-months-pregnant Lily Aldrdige, 32, walked for Brandon Maxwell in a red halter dress. And one on the way! A pregnant Lily Aldridge took the runway at Brandon Maxwell.

Glowing: The year-old is five months along and modeled a red halter dress. Celebrity makeup artist Carly Giglio, Head of Pro Artistry for Stila Cosmetics, created a beautifully whimsical look that played upon the youthful fun of the show's Alice in Wonderland theme, while remaining true to the elegant, tasteful designs of the brand. To begin, Carly prepped the skin with a range of hydration-boosting products from Algenist - including the brand's GENIUS Ultimate Anti-Aging Cream - in order to enhance the complexion's natural luminosity, and ensure a fresh base on which to apply the makeup.

Then, she turned to the Stila Cosmetics Stay All Day Foundation and Concealer, using the products only in the places where the models needed coverage, ensuring that the final look was still fresh and natural, without any caking or loss of luminosity.

The idea, she told DailyMail. With that in mind, Carly kept each of the girls' brows natural, filling them in with the Stay All Day Waterproof Brow Color, but ensuring that they kept their own natural shape. The real focus of the look were the eyes and cheeks, both of which were given a subtle shimmer courtesy of the brand's newest as-yet unreleased products: Shade Mystere Liquid Eye Shadow in Mythical for the lids, and Shade Mystere Face Gloss for the high points of the face - both of which will be released in Spring But far from mirroring the all-over-glitter looks most loved by young girls experimenting with makeup for the first time, Carly took careful steps to ensure that the final effect was ethereal and other-worldly, without being immature and girlish.

First, the eyes. By blending the metallic and the matte, she said, she was able to find that shimmering sweet spot of mystical and mature. The piece de resistance was the Shade Mustere Liquid Eye Shadow in Myhtical - an as-yet-unreleased product due to be released in Spring Carly applied the almost holographic shimmer shade in the very center of the lid to add a pop of illumination.

To achieve a glossy glow, the models were then treated to a beautiful highlight courtesy of the Shade Mystere Face Gloss - another product set to be released this coming Spring - which was lightly pressed into the face with a finger, which allowed the artists to maintain perfect control over the amount being applied, as well as the placement of the product. Sticking with the 'fresh from the secret garden' look, the lips were given a muted shimmer, which Carly created by - once again - mixing two contrasting products together, the Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Sheer Morello and the Stay All Day Shimmer Liquid Lipstick in Patina Shimmer.

The final ratio of shimmer to sheer was determined by each girl's natural lip color, with Carly explaining that they wanted to enhance the natural shade, rather than cover it up entirely.

Similarly, the product was not slicked across the girls' pouts, but rather applied carefully in the center of the lip before being blended out with a finger or a brush for that 'fresh bitten' look. Models' nails were also given the whimsical wonderland treatment courtesy of JINsoon; some girls were given a beautiful pearly shimmer by covering Dew - a pale milky white - with a layer of Mist, a stunning silvery glitter.

Others modeled a fun multi-colored confetti effect courtesy of the brand's Fab polish.
