By Chris Dyer For Mailonline. A stone passenger forced flight attendants to strip him in a toilet and wipe his backside as he allegedly 'moaned with pleasure' during a long-haul flight. The flight attendant said the large customer, who is thought to be American, made her and her colleagues undress him in a lavatory and clean his rear, asking staff to go 'deeper', during the trip from the United States to Taiwan. The incident took place during on a flight from Los Angeles to Taiwan's Taoyuan airport on Saturday, with the passenger - a Caucasian male - yet to be named. The stewardess, named only as her last name of Kuo, who was also Chief Purser on the flight, said in a press conference that her crew helped to pull down the passenger's pants and wipe his backside after he finished relieving himself.

Every year, as the fall TV season looms, culture-watchers start pointing out trends in the new slate of network shows. What makes sniffing for trends even more problematic is the fact that networks are in the habit of sending reviewers only one episode of a new show, whether further installments are in the can or not.
In almost every network pilot, there is something—or many things—that can justifiably be ridiculed, partly because most shows follow the same conventions when trying to give themselves a stamp. So the tone of pre-season commenting tends to be waggish and dismissive. And yet, year in and year out, far from being vexed by the smart-alecks who judge their offerings prematurely, the networks virtually demand not to be taken seriously.
Pan Am is the right airline to use to convey the sweep of decades, because of what it was and because of what it, unfortunately, became. Founded in the nineteen-twenties, it grew to be not just a company with a fleet of airplanes but the very symbol of flight, of the supposed romance of international travel.
But the final image really does have great charm. When they turn together and head out the door to a waiting plane, we see their faces, smiling and hopeful, as if they were embarking on a great voyage of discovery. The scene may not present any kind of truth about being a stewardess in , but good luck telling that to the little girl in you, who for those few seconds utterly buys this dated, Darin-stoked depiction of freedom and adventure.
Banging away at a typewriter, he ignores the ringing phone next to him, in the age-old tradition of geniuses at work. When was the last time you left the Village? Guess what? I lied. But I am not the right audience for the show, since I have always found the Playboy ethos, and its creator, laughable and insipid—the opposite of sexy. Yes, it was a place where anything could happen to anybody. Or any Bunny. The show plays like an old-fashioned backstage musical: we see the camaraderie and the competition among the women, the old saw of an older woman feeling threatened by a younger one, and the kinds of bits that are thrown in to show, in cheeky shorthand, how times are changing.

I picked this up as a free ebook on Amazon and I thought it was a great book -- now that it has gone back to full price, I don't know that I would necessarily recommend it since there isn't much to it.
I don't recall the author starting with her interest in being a Playboy Bunny other than a brief mention toward the end when the Playboy clubs all closed , but the rest of the story is about her career working for PanAm. The author was a persistent young lady and survived the rigors of the hiring practices of the day which would be unheard of today , including beauty and poise, as well as a perfectly maintained figure, weight, and hair style.
Many of the rules of the day were pretty interesting, including the bits about flight attendants not being permitted to be seen in public handling their own luggage and the strict rules about gloves, etc. It's getting hard to remember what it was like when there were luxury airlines -- the attendants actually cooked your food, on the plane! Reading about the PanAm commitments to quality were really interesting and the pages of her handbook were really fun to explore.
Overall, this is a sweet and simple book -- you won't find any dirty laundry here -- and it was a fun read. I'm glad that someone has preserved their experiences of working for one of the world's last great airlines. Format: Paperback Verified Purchase. A must for anyone who ever aspired or still dreams of being a flight attendant. It was a joy to read and very entertaining; a quick, easy read and I was sad when it was over.
Surely there are many, many more fascinating stories to tell for volume 2. Thank you Dona, for giving us a glimpse into an exciting life. One person found this helpful. I have been a Flight Attendant for 36 years and found this book very informative and amusing. I had no idea what it was like to fly in the 60's. Dona did a great job of portraying what life was like as a stewardess for Pan Am back before we were called flight attendants.
Dona is still flying and I had the pleasure of working with her. What a Lady and outstanding"Stewardess"! Her book is a great read! Epting gives us readers a true sense of what it was like to be airline staff during the true "Golden Age" of commercial aviation. It's a much different world than what most of us experience in the world of high loads and low yields. Cooking food on a flight? Unheard of now. Well-written, concise and lively, her memoir is a great read for any airline fan!
