A lot of the graduate professors in the School of Education seem a bit novice, but eager to educate nonetheless. I'll add that any school is what you make of it, and that every person has a different "fit" school.
For me, that fit was here. As a science major, I have been engaged in small classes with professors truly invested in my learning, as opposed to solely their research like in larger universities. I've been able to conduct research from the beginning. I've had guidance and mentorship that is truly unparalleled. But the best part has been how the size of the school allows students to truly form bonds. As just a freshman, I found myself walking to class stopping to say hi to so many people.
I'm not a social butterfly, I'll note, but the environment is just conducive to this! Can't recommend enough if you're looking for an environment to grow and thrive, but without being the number you might be at a larger school. Read 2, Reviews. Some aspects of USF that I love is how the class sizes are fairly small.
I am able to meet with my professors whenever I need, without having to compete for an appointment slot. Since the undergrad population is around students, the resources on or off-campus can be reached by all students. I've loved every minute of my attendance and promise that to any newcomer that is considering Biola as a place that they want to further their education.
The campus is on the smaller side but that just encourages the intimacy between friendships. The professors are very student oriented, they love what they are doing and are passionate about their students' education. The diversity is impeccable. There are students from so many different countries, there are clubs and events dedicated towards making them feel at home.
Biola has an excellent Campus Safety program designed to keep its students safe even while walking around at night. There has not been one moment that I have felt violated or unsafe on this campus.
Overall I love this place and wish with every bone in my body that I will be able to return for my second year! It was the best day ever! After we checked in, we were given a walking tour of the beautiful campus.
I then sat in on a Business class taught by a very engaging instructor. After a delicious lunch in the cafeteria, we met with one of the professors from the school of business. We then met with the director of finance to discuss tuition and financial aid options. I hope I am able to attend Westmont College. Westmont is my number one choice of schools, and I hope and pray that I get in!
I am currently in the Speech Language Pathology program which is amazing! The classes are not impacted and you have a great student teacher relationship. They genuinely care about how you do academically and offer around the clock help. The teachers really prepare you for your career, they introduce us to actual things we will be using in our field.
An overall rate for the school and my program is exceeding expectations. I fell in love with the school and their programs the second I toured the school. The staff is absolutely amazing and really care about their students and want to see them succeed. Read 43 Reviews. The professors, students, and other employees on campus are friendly and are eager to engage in conversation. Because it is a private school, professors deal with smaller classroom sizes.
Thus, they are far more involved with the education and well-being of the students. In addition, student-led tutoring services are free for any students requiring extra practice or explanation on a particular topic.
The food and dining services--typically comprised of mini-marts and a large dining hall--on-campus are varied and extremely convenient when traveling between classes. Unfortunately, because the campus is divided into two properties East and West Campus , some students find it difficult taking the trolley between campuses for class during the busier hours of the day, choosing instead to walk the 10 or 15 minutes down the road instead of waiting for a usually crowded trolley.
The campus is beautiful! Each class has about 15 students or less which if you enjoy being in a smaller setting, you'd definitely love FIDM. Everyone is friendly and I cannot wait to start my freshman year in the Fall.
Diving head first into a masters program outside of this university, makes me miss it more and more each day. I loved every aspect of this small community within La Verne. I truly felt more welcome than at any place or school so far in my life. The faculty provides hands on experience and aid to those that really need it. Professors were mainly just a phone call or text away. Student body was very diverse and the mindset that embodied these individuals was very intuitive and creative. The only thing I would change about this school would be the dining hall food!
The teachers are excellent at interacting and responding to questions, and the lectures are presented in a clear and orderly way.
There's still plenty of interaction between students in the discussion boards, and the flexibility of the online schedule is allowing me to work, travel, volunteer, and still finish college! I love the Christ-centered education and atmosphere.
The professors here genuinely care about the success of their students and they make sure to keep their doors and hearts open for their students. The environment in general is just welcoming and when you walk on campus, the people there make sure to make you feel like you already belong. High quality academic standard.

You get out what you put in! Read 3, Reviews. Students are kind, outgoing, smart, curious, and eager to grow. They're booksmart, but they also know how to connect with people. The library is filled to the brim during the week, but the surrounding neighborhood of Isla Vista pulses with energy on the weekends.
Work and play intermingle at UCSB and that's I think what makes the school turn out such well-rounded people who take the professional world by storm by being both highly intellectual and relatable. Professors have open door policies and genuinely want to see you succeed. They stay late after class to read your essay outlines, hold extra office hours before big exams, assist with putting study groups together. But, they're also human beings who are easy to connect with and who are always dispensing helpful post-graduation and life advice.
The word "community" is very much alive and well at UCSB. Go Gauchos! I currently live in Camino Del Sol where theirs an electric bus that goes directly to the school every seven min for free. It is always safe and clean here. Many of the people I met so far are very friendly where we have kickbacks, and parties in each other's houses. Overall, the people here are very wholesome and people take care of each other.
The professors here are amazing too, just make sure to do your research beforehand RateMyProffessor. Since UCI is generally a large school there are a lot of programs that are offered to the school! I would highly recommend taking advantage of that.
UC Davis offers a world-renowned veterinary as well as law graduate programs! Their College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences is the largest in the university with so many unique and research-oriented majors. They offer both Animal Science and Biology for future veterinarians with so many opportunities for hands-on training and internships at the campus dairy, meat lab one of the only in California , equine, primate, beef cattle and pig center.
It is academically challenging but has never been more than I can handle. Socially it can be more challenging to make new friends at random because it is a very STEM heavy school which tends to interest more introverts.
But the extroverts and socialites are out there if you look. Clubs, organizations, and Greek life have been great ways to meet like-minded people!
Instructors and staff have always made time to meet one on one with students by request. It is a 10 minute walk from the beach though most of the time students are indoors studying. Counseling services are stretched thin and it is hard to find an appointment. They are so freshman oriented and work very hard to help incoming students adapt to college life. Also, the new dorms are great! The one complaint I have in the disorganization of the student portal.
Resources include an all encompassing career center, library, tutoring services, financial aid, and more. The campus is vast and beautiful and just 10 minutes from the beach! Classroom sizes are small and faculty are dedicated to the success of each and every student.
Office hours are held at convenient times for students to address academic concerns and interests. CSULB also offers student life activities for students with various interests. This university has allowed me to find my passion and really guide my plans that I have for myself as I moved forward in my educational journey.
These plans could not have been fully executed without the help of the faculty and staff, as well as my mentors that I have had the opportunity to meet and have at SDSU. Everyone there is eager to learn, make new experiences, and create lasting friendships. School can be challenging and some professors are difficult in comparison to others, but this campus provides you with so much outside help like MSI, LSS, etc, a bunch of tutoring.
My first year was great! The combination of the culture, as well as the attention and care for each student, is mindblowing. I love the number of resources there is for us students to take advantage of!
I would definitely recommend this school if you are considering attending a 4-year university in California. Comparing these courses to on-campus courses, I have found in my observations that I learn more effectively and efficiently with an online instructor.
California State University Fullerton offers an online program that is achievable for full-time employees, stay-at home Moms, etc. I would like to see this amazing program offered in a little less expensive courses, although I understand the reason why it's offered at the price it is. I love everything they had, especially downtown Chico where it is right next to the campus. Chico is where everything is so close that it makes you want to go explore like trails, creeks, lakes, anything you can think about that is adventurous, and Chico also has programs for it, too!
From the two years that I have been at Chico State, I would like to see changes in safety at most. This is a very important situation because I got two of my bike stolen in Chico State's campus. It was devastating because the bikes are my transportation to campus, not just that, but for others too. I would like to see a change in safety of bikes by having security cameras, securities, and better bike racks to lock bike.
Read 2, Reviews. Around campus, you see diversity in everything from ethnicities to food, architecture, and activities. I lived in the Estrellas suites my first year, and I loved it.
I had my own room, three great roommates, and was able to enjoy the luxury of living on-campus. The staff and faculty are very welcoming and nice. There are plenty of clubs and opportunities to meet people and find social groups. At this school, I feel motivated both professionally and creatively. I found my emphasis I want to pursue in my major, and I have access to great creative outlets such as dancing and cultural events.
Highly recommend! Great place to learn about your future profession while building experience and learning about yourself! I also like how it is a small campus. Something that CMA can fix, is the parking lot space.
Read Reviews. It is the cheapest CSU in the California which has made going to school very affordable! Living in the Central Valley of California, our school has a lot of diversity and feels like a melting pot of culture. School involvement seems very important for Fresno State, as there are daily events for students of all majors and backgrounds, and plenty of clubs to join. Along with being culturally diverse, we are major diverse as well.
We have a great agricultural program for students interested in animals and farming, and a great engineering program ranging from civil engineering, electrical engineering, computer engineering, geomatics engineering, mechanical engineering, and construction management.
I am proud to be apart of such an amazing university that has a place for every type of student. Go Dogs!
